Under general supervision, performs a variety of tasks including forming, placing rebar, finishing, protecting and repairing concrete in a safe and efficient manner and according to federal, and state safety regulations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Checking forms for proper construction
Setting forms and rebar.
Spread, level and smooth concrete using rake, shovel, hand or power trowel, hand or power screed and float.
Place expansion joints and edges using edging tools, jointer and straight edge.
Operate power vibrator to compact concrete
Application of surface treatments, and produce finish of concrete surface based on specifications.
Inspect finished concrete, patch holes, and fix imperfections after concrete has finished setting.
Removal of forms and assist in clean up once concrete has set/cured.
Follow instructions from superiors and work as a member of a team
Clean and maintain all tools, replacing tools and tool parts as needed or advising supervisors if something is in need of repair.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
Work is performed in a variety of weather conditions with exposure to outdoor elements. Functions essential to this position include but are not limited to standing, sitting, stooping, bending, walking and lifting heavy objects (50 pounds) during the course of the work day.
Must be at least 18 years old
Must have reliable transportation
Must be able to pass a background test, as many jobs are located on military bases
The ability to read blue prints is not required but desired.
